Hey, I’m Andy
I've always been drawn to the space between technical and human — where complicated systems meet the people who have to actually use them.
My career started in global health policy (yes, really — I have an MSc from the London School of Economics to prove it), pivoted into software engineering, and eventually landed somewhere that makes both make sense: developer relations. It turns out that making hard things feel approachable, building communities around shared problems, and helping organizations communicate clearly are skills that travel well.
On the engineering side, I spent years as a senior frontend developer building production web apps, leading platform migrations, and collaborating closely with product and design. That foundation matters — I understand the code, the tradeoffs, and the developer mindset from the inside, not from the outside looking in.
These days I lead Developer Relations at Heroic Labs, where I work on the content, community, and developer experience that surrounds Nakama, Hiro, and Satori — tools used by game studios around the world. I also take on consulting work for companies that need a thoughtful, experienced hand with their DevRel strategy, technical content, or developer community.
Outside of work, you'll find me cooking something with too many steps, hunting for the right chair to complete my dining room, or trying to convince my dog Merlin that the weekend belongs to both of us.
If any of this sounds like what you're looking for — or you're just curious — I'd love to hear from you.
